Choose ONE of the following for your Writing Assignment topic (see the Positive Thinking Corner for more information):
1). Pros and Cons: brainstorm benefits of “wild play” and “forest kindergarten.” What advantages do they have over traditional methods? What disadvantages? Write a paragraph or two (150-200 words) about your thoughts on both. While this isn’t formal writing, be sure to review your work for grammar, spelling, and full sentences before you upload it to the assignment folder.
2). Children at Play: observe some children at play. How closely are they supervised? How much freedom do they have, or how regulated are their activities? Write a paragraph or two (150-200 words) reflecting on the effects of that level of supervision/freedom. While this isn’t formal writing, be sure to review your work for grammar, spelling, and full sentences before you upload it to the assignment folder.
