Both of our readings on action research this week point toward a role that teachers play that you might not have thought of – of teachers as knowledge creators and investigators. For your exit ticket this week, I’d like you to answer a couple of questions, drawing on what you’ve learned from the this week’s resources:
1.) Do you think that engaging in this inquiry is an essential part of your job as a practitioner? What are some examples of times that you might need to conduct research within the boundaries of your own work?
2.) Do you think that we, as a system, prepare practitioners for this work? What do we need to do in order to support them when they take on the role of knowledge creator?
